The Agency which metamorphosed from the highly successful Delta State Micro Credit Programme is mandated to facilitate, encourage and support the extension of financial services to micro, small and medium enterprises in the state.
The Executive Secretary, Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, Hon. Barr. Orezi Esievo has stated that Government cannot provide all that is needed to empower MSMEs in the state because of the different facets of the economy that also needs the attention of government.
The executive Secretary, Hon. Barr. Orezi Esieovo who made the statement in her office during a courtesy call on her by the Executives and members of Market men and women Association of Nigeria (Delta State Chapter) said the Senator Dr .Ifeanyi Okowa led administration is geared towards serving the people.
Hon. Orezi Esievo emphasized that the Agency will partner with the UN and other Development Partners and financial institutions to promote MSMEs in state, stressing that the agency will embark on the empowerment of cluster groups. She explained that cluster groups are already well abreast with their trade and as such will be able to manage/use whatever empowerment package for the growth and development of their businesses. She therefore advised potential beneficiaries to register with cluster groups which will make them grow fast and stand strong.
She also highlighted the fact that the Agency is ready to provide business support services, advisory support services and extension services through the Agency business clinic in order to upscale the business of entrepreneurs.
Earlier, the President of Market Men and Women Association of Nigeria, Delta State Chapter, Hon. Mrs. Kate Onah Congratulated the Executive Secretary for her appointment and thanked her for the reception granted them.
Hon. Mrs. Kate Onah assured the ES of their continues support in the scheme of things even as she asked that members of the association be remembered and carried along in the area of soft loan to enable them boast their business while promising the Executive Secretary they in turn will stand up to their responsibility by paying back whatever they get from the Agency to the last dime.
Comrade Steven Amale, an executive member of the Association, Warri South Local Government Area, thanked the Executive Secretary for the laudable activities put on ground to boast MSMEs business in the State, adding that they are particularly happy that with her wealth of knowledge and experience put to bear, MSMEs in state will attain greater height.
The high point of the meeting was the presentation of souvenir to the Executive Secretary, DEMSMA.
